Part of the World Cities Culture Forum annual Summit which will be taking place in Amsterdam this year. With, among others: Crimson Rose, Co-Founder of Burning Man Pep Gatell, Co-Artistic Director of La Fura dels Baus from Barcelona Mark Ball, Artistic Director of London International Festival of Theatre Helen Marriage, Artistic Director of Artichoke From Bogotá to Amsterdam, Shanghai to Toronto, New York to Tokyo: the World Cities Culture Forum is the largest gathering of global cities who believe that creativity is the essential ingredient in cities and no city can ignore it if it wants to thrive in the 21st century. In November, cities will gather in Amsterdam for the third annual summit to discuss the vital importance of culture in urban development. The Summit will be a place for global policy makers and the general public to hear from inspiring artists, curators and cultural entrepreneurs about pioneering artistic projects. Art, created in and around outdoor public spaces, that has been genuinely transformative both for people and their cities. How artists are engineering the transformation of cities? In De Balie, inspirational artists will talk about how their work has broken down the barriers between audience and participant and created a space for imagination, freedom and play. The forces of cultural disruption will be revealed to show how artists are redefining audience relationships, embarking on large scale storytelling and creating new histories for our cities. Surprising us with their extraordinary creativity. Come and join this lively discussion, chaired by Ruth Mackenzie, Director of the Holland Festival. Come ready to ask questions, challenge and provoke the discussion and meet global entrepreneurs. NOTE: This event will be recorded and streamed live. Parts of the conversation will be translated into English text and shown live on screen.
