This is a spoof commercial I did for the Copenhagen Theatre Circle's production of Aladdin. Special Thanks to: Iven Gilmore for his outstanding performance as Widow Twankey both in the video and in the play. Ed Kowalski for once again supplying the necessary video equipments. And also the whole cast and crew of the theatre production CTC's Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp

With the premiere of Aladdin, our Christmas pantomime this year, fast approaching, we managed to grab a chat with Mark Rowley who plays Widow Twankey in between rehearsals Mark told us about the challenges and enjoyment he gets from playing the iconic panto dame, and the character transformation that happens as soon as he dons the famous, bust-heavy costume. For our final year BA Acting students, the Pantomime marks a change in their approach, there’s no method acting in the madness of the Panto. Instead, they concentrate on singing, dancing, comic timing and working audiences into a festive frenzy. Mark mentions his belief that the Royal Conservatoire panto is as good as (and cheaper than) any performance you will see at any theatre this year and we happen to agree. The stunning set and costumes, lighting and sound design and stage management responsibilities fall to our talented Technical and Production Arts students whilst the top notch performances come from our Acting students under the guidance of vastly experienced Director, Alasdair Hawthorn. Aladdin is the hot ticket performance for the whole family with audience interaction and big laughs for the kids and lashings of sauce and innuendo for the grownups, much of it delivered by the indomitable Widow Twankey.
