A recent overcast Saturday afternoon afforded the perfect opportunity to play with color saturation and its effect on mood. I took the 7D down to a nearby defunct wire mill and shot some basic pan and tilt scenics (after explaining to the friendly Redding Police just what I was up to ... Sketchbook? More like sketchball). Equipment: Canon 7D (50mm f1.8, 18-105mm f3.5). Resolution/Frame Rate: 720p/59.94 (conformed 29.97 in After Effects). Edited in Avid 6.0.1 Filmed and edited by Will Moss. Music: Cracks (Flux Pavillion Remix) by Freestylers This is the first installment of my "Sketchbook" series; short studies in the various aspects of filmmaking and media technology.

We've been hearing a lot of great feedback on our new and improved natural feature terrain park this season ... and it just keeps getting better. Hip lines, log jibs, rock drops, tree grabs, wall rides, hand draggers, pow turns, boxes and so much more! Here are some of the features as of 03/11. Riders: RJ Higgins and Andy Schulz. Produced by LTPark.com and Lost Trail Powder Mountain. Filmed and edited by Will Moss. Music: "Bobcat Tracks" by Old Crow Medicine Show.

While the peaks of New York's Shawangunk Mountains might not be as savage as those of the Northern Rockies (oh, how I miss home), within the nooks and crannies of these rolling hills, one can find some pretty spectacular landscapes. On a rainy day in April, I ventured out to find some choice spots and was rewarded with a series of waterfalls and a rather interesting reclaimed hydroelectric power facility of some sort. I shot primarily in 720p at 60fps with the goal of conforming to 23.796 to slow down the movement of the water (falls and rain). Dolly moves were ghetto-rigged by pivoting the tripod on two legs. 8mm film effects were a complete after thought ... added at the last minute just because I was interested in trying to replicate the effect piecemeal (no effect presets). Equipment: Canon 7D (50mm f1.8, 18-105mm f3.5). Resolution/Frame Rate: 720p/59.94 (conformed 23.976 in After Effects CS5). Edited in Avid 6.0.1 with 8mm film and light leak stylings applied in After Effects. Filmed and edited by Will Moss. Music: "Glitch Set" by Besker ... http://soundcloud.com/besker/glitch-set This is the second installment in my "Sketchbook" series; short studies in the various aspects of filmmaking and media technology.

A short shred flick about whales, snow sliding and the intricate parallels that exist between the two ... Mostly old and archived footy from the last .. four? years at Lost Trail Powder Mountain (and a little Hood) in Western Montana. Clique rolls deep in a couple of recent shots from last season ... mostly just about how fun the sillies can be though.

With the early season snow vanishing rapidly in the Indian summer heat, we got while we could. RC and myself took the Toyota up Skalkaho Pass for some mud-gnar towboarding and death log spike jibbing.
