Pastor David Wolf finishes what Pastor Dan started with the final of three studies in the book of Amos. Amos 6:4 - 7 - the people of the northern nation of Israel were all about leisure, self-indulgent, people full of themselves. Instead of becoming irreligious, they became hyper-spiritual, but their spirituality did not challenge their fallen nature and didn't lead them to repentance and righteousness. They didn't have the time nor vision to grieve for a culture that had lost its way. Amos 7: Judgment - The Lord may relent for a season. Ultimately, we all reap what we sow in God's timing. Amos 8 - There is a time when judgment is ripe and God relents no further. However, with repentance comes times of refreshing. God has redeemed us and Jesus Christ died for our sins. When we think on these things, we remember that our relationship is with God. When we concentrate on God, our life is anything but dry. Amos 9 - The Lord judges righteously, appropriately. God's ultimate purpose is to bring the nation of Israel back (see Ezekiel and the valley of dry bones). Ultimately, there is hope in Jesus Christ.
