This short video show's the installation of '3 Buckets'. The idea of this piece is to use objects of the everyday in an alternative context; this elevates these objects from their everyday context to serve another function, the function they serve maybe absurd. Due to the consumer run society we have become, it has become a lot easier to replace faltering or 'broken' items with the new. I try to elevate such objects and give it another purpose or function. To elevate an object from it's mundane environment emphasises the item and its use. In the case of the '3 Buckets' the work becomes a rudimentary timing device, as the water passes from the hanged bucket into the bucket below. The bucket's have a reflective quality which shows the viewer how they are interacting with the buckets and experiencing them out of context. I think that this could be developed into researching the average time a visitor spends in a gallery, and getting the water to completely finish dripping in this amount of time.+ More details
