What water gave me. "Johanna: What's it feel like when you dive? Jacques: It's a feeling of slipping without falling. The hardest thing is when you're at the bottom. Johanna: Why? Jacques: 'Cause you have to find a good reason to come back up... and I have a hard time finding one." The tanker HENRY DESPREZ was completed in the 1932 by the Danish shipyard Burmeister & Wain for the Compagnie auxiliaire de navigation. On the 26th November 1942 she was in the Toulon harbor during the scuttling of the French navy. She was later taken over by the German government. On 3rd June 1943 she was torpedoed and sank by the British submarine HMS UNRUFFLED in front of Fiumefreddo Bruzio (Italy) http://goo.gl/maps/uzjny The wreck lies under 75m/246ft of water in upward position. With its length of 150m/492ft, after the oil tanker HAVEN, it's the 2nd biggest divable wreck in Italian waters. _________________________________________________________________________________ Shot on a Panasonic GH2 + Lumix 8mm fisheye loaded with Lee Powell’s Flow Motion 2.02 settings; Nauticam Housing and 2x FIX Aquavolt3500 lights. This video is about the UB-88 in Southern California, a World War 1 U-boat lying in 200 feet/ 60 meters. Bow and stern are 190 feet/ 57 meters deep. The coning tower depth is 168 feet / 50.8 meters. The ghost net is over the stern area and seems to be an old tuna net due to its larger mesh. Fish encountered on this submarine are: ling cods, cabezons, perches, large rock fish, and a large and healthy population of wolf eels. Heather freed a cabezon, a perch, and some wolf eels that were trapped in the net.

On the 2nd February of 1943, at 2:50pm the HMS SAFARI attacked with guns and torpedoes a two ship convoy 10 miles West of Capri island off the Positano shore. goo.gl/maps/sEGtq.
The SS VALSAVOIA vimeo.com/53775747 was the first ship sunk by the HMS SAFARI. Few minutes later, it was the SS SALEMI 's turn. Hit by several gun shells, it was reached by a torpedo, sinking just near the other steamer. Last year we documented the wreck of SS VALSAVOIA vimeo.com/53775747 . Recently we filmed and explored for the very first time the wreck of SS SALEMI. The ship lies under 105m / 345 ft of water in an upward position. Unfortunately, on the bottom, we had only 3m / 10 ft of viz making exploration and filming rather difficult.
The ship's bow points East while the stern is completely missing. The wreck is covered by large nets and most of the ship's structures like deckhouse are destroyed.
On the bow, covered by a large trawl net, we found the ship's bell. Divers: Davide De Benedictis, Fabio Masiello, Stefano Memoli. Safety divers: Marco Bartolomucci, Alessandro Gallo, Giuseppe Lopes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shot on a Panasonic GH2 + Lumix 7-14mm loaded with Lee Powell’s Flow Motion 2.02 settings; Nauticam Housing, 2x FIX Aquavolt3500 lights and 2x 50W HID Yellow Diving.
