"Into the Arts: A Personal Journey" shares stories of adults in Jackson Hole who are discovering, rediscovering or furthering their artistic talents. Two student-teacher pairs are covered in these vignettes. Laurie Andrews pursues voice and guitar with Beth McIntosh, while Barbara Trachtenberg finally gets her childhood wish for piano lessons courtesy of Keith Phillips. "Into the Arts: A Personal Journey" (FILM+DISCUSSION) premiered in Dancers' Workshop Studio 1 in April 2013. There was such a positive response to the program that JenTen Productions went on to create "Into the Arts: A Personal Journey - Take 2." This second program, presented in September 2013 at the Teton County Library (TCL), built on the success of the first and added to it, incorporating an art exhibition in the TCL Gallery. Grant funding for this project was provided by the Wyoming Arts Council and the Cultural Council of Jackson Hole/Town and County Arts for All. The Art Association of Jackson Hole, Dancers' Workshop, Riot Act and the Teton County Library collaborated with JenTen Productions and supported the project. Finally, "Into the Arts" would not have been possible without contributions from private donors. There are amazing music teachers in Jackson Hole. Ask around, find a music teacher and get "into the arts." To find out more about Beth McIntosh and Keith Phillips, please go to www.bethmcintosh.com and www.keithphillipspiano.com

This vignette was featured as part of a film+community conversation about exploring art-making as an adult. It premiered as part of a program at the Teton County Library on September 4, 2013. Beatriz and Minerva had never acted before being recruited by director Luis Guerrero to play roles in "No Roosters In The Desert". Luis, Beatriz and Minerva share what that experience was like - the surprises, the joys and challenges. Although the play was in English, we asked these three to speak in Spanish so we might reach a broader Spanish-speaking audience. This program was made possible through the funding, collaboration and support of the following organizations: Wyoming Arts Council, Cultural Council of Jackson Hole/Town and County Arts for All, Art Association of Jackson Hole, Riot Act, Dancers' Workshop and the Teton County Library.
