Interviews with 28 people help tell the story of the Night Ministry, a youth outreach organization in Chicago that makes some 80,000 person to person contacts a year. The group’s signature 38-foot bus outfitted with a health care facility makes regular stops at disadvantaged neighborhoods in every part of the city for the city’s homeless youth and at-risk youth and adults to lean on. “People are not expendable. They are worth something, and if society continues to throw them away, then we’re throwing away life and we’re throwing away our brothers and our sisters,” said the group’s president Paul Hammas. The video was used to help recruit volunteers and in their group orientation. It was also shown at an annual awards dinner.
