The Zambezi remains one of the ALL-TIME whitewater gems at any level... but high-water steps things up a notch or two!! This was my sketchiest run of Number 9 when I met up with Steve Fisher and Jason Beakes on the Zams last year. You don't really want to tangle with the wall and "terminal" eddy bottom left... ask Mr Beakes! Music - Jeremy Loops recorded live at Kirstenbosch... on a cell phone!

With a stunning panoramic view overlooking the Zambezi River and escarpment, this site is nestled under Mahogany, Sausage, Winter Thorn and Acacia Tortillas Trees, which provide excellent shade. Potato Bush Camp is comprised of three well-appointed Canvas and Rosewood Safari Tents and also a 2-bedroom Family Tent (similar to the very popular Kigelia House at it's adjacent sister, Sausage Tree Camp).

It doesn't have to be the first, the longest, or the tallest. You don't have to be the best, most famous, or even have much of a reason at all. When a passion or desire takes hold within, all you have to do is explore. The U.S. National Whitewater Center presents EXPLORE: Chapter One, a short film by Cooper Lambla and Tyler Allyn about the pursuit of the active, outdoor lifestyle. Shot on location in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. For more from the EXPLORE Series: http://explore.usnwc.org Presented by the U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) Shot + Directed - Cooper Lambla x Tyler Allyn Edited + Post Production - Tyler Allyn Aerial Footage – Tony Barnett Productions Music - Terakaft, Stephen Anderson, Imaginary Cities and Open Sea.
