1. The Overcomer

    from Jordan Lehman Added 204 1 0

A multimedia piece I made for my photography class. Josh continues to work out, but is limited to light weight workouts meaning he will no longer be able to compete in bodybuilding competitions. His future goal is to become a full-time personal trainer. He hopes to impart his knowledge and determination into those he trains.

    • Panasonic TM700 Slow Motion + Zoom H4n + Redhead Windscreen

      from iamkalaniprince Added 35.2K 453 191

brought to you by http://www.redheadwindscreens.com - Custom Windscreens for hand held audio recorders. Took my little one to this beach on Maui's west side because I really like the background on both ends of the beach. Hope you enjoy : ) Second outing with my new Panasonic TM 700. This camera makes me happy. It shoots cleaner prettier wide angles then my hacked GH1 or my Canon 5D2... I have to do a side by side comparison to the GH1 and 5D2 for Medium shots or close ups but will soon. As of this writing it's one of I believe two cameras you can get for under $1000 that can do 1920X1080 at 60p! I got it for this purpose alone but was pleasantly surprised when I saw the images the cam can make. The sounds of the waves and foley stuffs were made using the Zoom H4n digital audio recorder paired with a Redhead Windscreen for happy sound. Editing was done in Premiere on a 24p timeline. Clips were slowed to 40% which created the proper ratio of smooth slowdown and very minimal color correction was done, ( just a bit of levels play and my usual addition mild amounts of noise )..hey, I like noise : ) Download the full sized 1920X1080 version in the sidebar for best quality. It will take a bit to download, perfect time for a break. Music is from planet earth soundtrack. Mahalo for watching-

from Adrian Vieni (Wood & Wires) Added 2,308 17 3

Michael Rault is truly one of the coolest musicians i've ever been able to work with. He revives 50's/60's blues and rock & roll so effortlessly, and so naturally, that its just not fair. You put on his record and you're jumped back in time, where music was just these simple, bare bones, rockin' love songs. Michael met me in Kingston, along with Bedouin Soundclash, for whom he was opening on a Canada-wide tour. He played a few tunes for us in my favourite guitar shop eve, The Kingston Guitar Shop. Plugging into an old amp, his sound came through just as gritty and warm as it should have, and made this session just perfect (along with some helpful hand-claps by Jay and the rest of Bedouin and crew). Enjoy! www.woodandwiresproductions.com www.myspace.com/michaelrault Images by Adrian J Vieni & Joey Whitelaw Sound by Adrian J Vieni Edit/Mix by Adrian J Vieni Shot on a Canon 7D and t2i, both with 50mm primes Sound w/ a zoom h4n a& sennheiser lav Coloured in Looks.

Went out to a bar to shoot these guys for fun a few times and decided to put together a few live performance videos for their website for them. Had a lot of fun doing it and learned a lot about shooting low light and correcting low light! GEAR: Canon 550D/T2i 18-55mm kit lens(!) A crappy $20 monopod(!) AUDIO: Zoom H4n At a previous shoot, the camera's audio was actually impressive, but had a little rattle due to the volume of the performance and, I suspect, vibrations coming from the wood floor through the monopod base. This time I brought my Zoom out, sat it on a cushioned bar-stool to help protect it from vibrations and let it do its thing. No shotgun mic, just the Zoom's built-in condensers. That's the audio here. I was really happy about that, though in the future I hope to just record out of the soundboard. In post I sync'd sound and picture up and played around in Color and in FCP's color corrector to try and bring the band out of the darkness a bit. I somehow landed on the slightly washed look of the colors that I kinda like. Next time I'm going to try and get into using masks and shapes to target the band better. A fun shoot for some friends who I have a lot of love and respect for. Glad I could turn it around into something useful for their website and such.

This is a short film I co-produced with Fletcher Powell for a Video Storytelling class at Wichita State University. We wrote the script in a couple of hours and had one week to shoot and edit it. We were unable to shoot some of the transitionary scenes, but for what we had to work with, I think we did a good job. Of course, it's easy to look back and see what we could have done better, but I think that was my goal... to just get out there and do something and learn what works and what doesn't.
