Taylor Ballantyne is a photographer, videographer and California native. Her career began in Los Angeles photographing designer’s collections, look books, commercial work, and comp cards for various modeling agencies. Her formal training comes from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA and she holds a BFA in Photography from the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City.
After finishing out her schooling in New York, Taylor continued to work in fashion. She segued into the video world by collaborating with photographer Garance Dore, shooting and editing behind-the-scenes films for New York, Milan and Paris fashion weeks. Upon returning to the states she reached out to her network of designers and began creating fashion branding films.
Simultaneously she began studying under celebrity photographer Ken Regan as an assistant studio manager at Camera 5 Inc. This ignited her interest in music. At this time she began to expand her book by photographing musicians, directing, filming and editing music videos.
After Camera 5 Inc., she was hired by Sports Illustrated where she presently works as a photo technician and in-house photographer.She resides in New York City and continues to build her still portfolio and video reel by collaborating with designers and musicians.
