Eucatastrophe or “The Euc” (The Yuke) – as we call it – is an intentional faith community in the Fort Worth greater metro area. The late J.R.R. Tolkien coined the term eucatastrophe in his essay entitled On Fairy-Stories (this essay can be found in his book, The Tolkien Reader). Tolkien used the term eucatastrophe to explain the “turn” of events in the story that gives hope to hopeless. It is where the light invades the darkness so the hope and the joy of the Creator may be illuminated throughout all of creation. “The Birth of Christ is the eucatastrophe of humanities’ history. The Resurrection is the eucatastrophe of the story of the Incarnation. This story begins and ends with joy.”
Eucatastrophe is a community that seeks to holistically travel together in our faith journeys, seeking the hope and joy of our Creator, in the world as followers of God through the way of Jesus, illuminating the Kingdom of Heaven as we go.
