Interdisciplinary research network, meets annually, fosters collaboration and publishes on drawing and cognition. @drawCogs #drawingandcognition, #TtD
We've just completed our third international Thinking through Drawing conference, at The Metropolitan Museum and Teachers College, Columbia University. We asked the question: 'What is drawing for?' and got a wonderful range of answers, some of which you can see on our Facebook page. This followed up on Thinking through Drawing 2012: Drawing in STEAM at Wimbledon College of Art , London. That event brought together artists, educators, scientists, medical practitioners, philosophers, engineers, computer scientists, and more, to examine the uses of drawing across Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths.
These symposia grew out of discussions on drawing and cognition, which began at the Drawing Research Network’s 2010 conference, between Angela Brew (UAL), Michelle Fava (Loughborough), and Andrea Kantrowitz (Teachers College).
