Helga - Photogrammetry Test

Impressions of the photogrammetry test session the Helga and Krötenlied teams did together.

The goal was to digitize a real miniature set in order to combine the handcrafted look from real miniatures with the flexibility of a full CG animation production.

Our setup consisted of:

* An Arduino turntable shortwired to a Canon 5D Mark3

* 3 workstations connected through a network

* The first workstation was connected to the camera

* The second workstation had a python service running to start a live key of the photos in Nuke

* The third workstation could be used for test solves.

Not yet sure if the production will use this method, or if we will default to traditional VFX methods like camera tracking, rotoscoping etc.
