Born in Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales, I obtained a BA in Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster in Central London. I spent most of my life working in the television and publishing media. My work has been published in many newspapers, magazines and books worldwide.
In recent years I moved into fine art photography and have exhibited my photographs Internationally at both solo and group exhibitions- roberthaines.com. I am represented in Paris by Dominoque Charlet.
In 2008 a book of my old photographs titled "Once Upon a Time in Wales" was published by Dewi Lewis to much acclaim. It became the most emailed story on The Independent newspaper site for two weeks. It was the popularity of this book that led to the making of my first film "Astronauts, Vikings and Ghosts" for my production company Flicks.
