Swedwatch is a non profit organization reporting on Swedish business relations in low-wage countries. Swedwatch covers different sectors and focuses on social and environmental concerns
Swedwatch regards transnational trade as something that can contribute to growth in developing countries as long as companies taking the relevant environmental and social responsibility within their spheres of influence. The Swedwatch aim is that Swedish-related companies take into account the people and the environment when running their activities in developing and low-wage countries. The Swedwatch overall goal is to help reduce poverty and minimize negative impact of production and investment in developing countries. This is achieved by auditing Swedish companies’ trading and operations in developing countries. The end result is published here as a report.
Swedwatch strives to reach a balanced and fair view in its reports and bases published material on information collected by companies, scientists and other experts, and not least on information gathered by its independent field studies.
