Parsons School of Design graduate, now making my studio practice in Los Angeles- My primary visual focus is sculpture// and or sculptural objects. I explore the themes of struggle, identity and self-realization, directly connected to my personal history of an adolescent who emigrated from Jamaica while in the throes of coming to terms with his sexuality. My work is about process and the working out of these concerns through repetition in search of arriving at a “truth”, mapping of where I’ve been, who I am and what I understand. My art is also a meditation on the complex issues of, sexuality, same sex love, gender identity and race. My mission is to create art that is accessible and stimulate productive public and private conversation.
