Jody Christopherson is a performer, writer and multi media artist( film maker, photographer). Her transmedia musical THE SKYPE SHOW premiered in The New york International Fringe Festival in 2013 and will be presented by Filmgate at The LightBox in Miami FL feb 2014. Her film "LIKE THIS" was the winner of the 2011 Exquisite Corpse Festival NYC.
As a theater maker Jody has been awarded grants from Philadelphia Shakespeare, Bowery Arts and Sciences, commissions from Blue Box productions and the Exquisite Corpse Festival. Her work as an actress has been seen at: The Kitchen, Dixon Place, Ensemble Studio Theater, the Humana Festival, The Public Theatre, Classic Stage Company, the Bushwick Starr, Bowery Poetry Club, Philadelphia Shakespeare, Nebraska Rep, Here Arts Center and more. Jody holds a BA in acting from University of Nebraska Lincoln and was an acting apprentice at Actors Theater of Lousiville where she continued to develop her writing and performance skills. Lead singer and founding member of the theatrical band: Greencard Wedding.
Jody is a blogger for Huffinton Post and the editor and creator of New York Theatre Review, an indie media outlet for indie theater with over 230,000 views to date. Jody's writing has been featured on; TCG, Howlround, Big Vision Empty Wallet , One Producer in the City, nytheater.com's Indie Theater Companion . She is a member of the Independent Theater Bloggers Association for which she was the coordinator of the Patrick Lee awards for off-off Broadway 2012.
