Outsiders who come to Armenia, the tiny country nestled in the heart of the Caucasus, are often floored by the dramatic poverty present in society, where one third of the population lives below the poverty line.
For native Armenians, who in the past two decades have witnessed a devastating earthquake, the collapse of a political regime, a war, and a fuel crisis, poverty is closely entwined with everyday life.
The Hidden Faces of Armenia Project aims to give a voice to those individuals who are most affected by sharing their unique stories with the world.
The goal of the project is to listen to what these people have to say about their lives and situation, and ignite a dialogue with the Diaspora about those in Armenia who often fall into the fringes.
