Athanasios Alexo was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. After high school, he worked as assistant photographer in Thessaloniki for two years. In 2009 he enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera in Milan to study painting. During his study years he worked as a photographer in Milan.
Some of the companies he has collaborated with are: Studio Pro Design, Repubblica XL, Rizzoli, Sony, Clan Celentano, DJ MAG Italia, Round Magazine, Marni. Among others, he photographed for the album covers of Andriano Celentano, RON, and Tricarico. Also, in 2012 he photographed personal objects for the biographies of Walter Bonatti and Marco Simoncelli.
Apart from photography, he has also worked with video art, installation, performance and painting. He has participated in several exhibitions, such as Biennale Triggiano, Bari, Studio Zero, Melzo Film Festival Bologna, INMEDITERRANEUM (Cordoba, Montevideo, Madrid, Atene, Palermo).
Athanasios likes to experiment and play with his photography. His style is portraits and the presence of human form in photography. He looks for the power of simplicity in the image.
