Álvaro Laiz (León, 1981)
His work conceives photography as a tool to give civil society in post-conflict zones the chance to be heard, exploring the environment, costumes and traditions of those people at risk of exclusion. Master in Visual Arts at Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, his work focuses on realities usually ignored by mass media.
Amongst other awards his work has been granted with International Photography Prize Revela´12, POPCAP´13 Photography Award, Pride International Photography Contest Second Prize and Pilar Citoler, Anthropographia Prize 2012 and International Photography Awards 2012 Honor Mention. He inagurates his first individual exhibition in june 2012 as a part of PhotoEspaña in Fucares Gallery Madrid.
