Jordine Cornish (Melbourne, 1987) is a dancer, choreographer, dance educator and barre/yoga instructor.
Her choreographic practice explores film and live performance and her work focuses on the embodiment of one’s own history and lived experiences whilst challenging traditional ways of perceiving the body.
Jordine’s practice as a performer and dance educator has taken her through out Australia and Europe. In 2015 Jordine was in residence at The Freezer Theatre in Iceland developing her debut solo performance ‘líkami’. In 2013 she worked with acclaimed Arch 8 Dance Company in Germany and The Netherlands on the production ‘Connect The Dots’. In 2013 she was a scholarship recipient of SMASH Berlin – a three month intensive training in experimental physical performance based in Berlin. She has choreographed music videos for notable Australian musicians Rachel by the Stream and Opiuo and choreographed for acclaimed Melbourne theatre companies Red Stitch Actor’s Theatre and MKA: Theatre of New Writing. She has an extensive teaching practice in dance, barre and yoga. She is passionate about empowering others to live more fully embodied, integrated & balanced lives through yoga, movement & meditation. Jordine holds a degree in Contemporary Dance and a Post Graduate Diploma in Choreography from The University of Melbourne, Victorian College of the Arts. She has undertaken
