Retired after 40+ years in the IT business.
I first became interested in video photography back in the 1980s, when consumer video cameras were in their infancy. The interest lasted for a few years, but I eventually went back to still photography.
I returned to video a few years ago when DSLRs and bridge cameras started to shoot 1080p. I used a succession of Canon cameras until Sony brought out their 4K UHD camera (AX100E) last year.
And once you shoot in 4K, you can't really contemplate anything else.
My main (videography) interests are recording archaeological and historical subjects.
I still have a way to go when recording good audio .......... but I'm working on it.
