Andre Murrugarra was born in Lima, Peru in 1992. In the year 1999, he and his family migrated to Murrieta, California, where he would spend the next 4 years of his life. By 2006, he had moved to the garden state of New Jersey. After graduating from Morris Knolls High School in the town of Rockaway, New Jersey, he decided he would pursue his filmmaking passion and career by attending The Art Institute of New York City. The love he acquired for film began at an early age with inspiration from titles among “A Clockwork Orange” & "Fight Club".
Andre would direct his thesis film Portal before graduating from Ai. Post graduation, a six month hiring process would land him an internship in the film department of ABKCO Music & Records Inc, a record label in the heart of manhattan. In another 6 months, Andre would turn the internship into a full time position and become the Assistant Editor at ABKCO. Since then, he has been involved in multiple projects reaching from directing and editing short films, music videos & commercials to video jockeying multi-genre live artist, filming internet featurettes and trailers & film distribution and booking. He is currently the assistant distributor for Alejandro Jodorowsky's ( El Topo, The Holy Mountain ) The Dance of Reality and is responsible for the US theatrical distribution of the film. He is also working on a new short film titled Addiction, which is set to release in 2015.
