Music fans got their first taste of KRISTA POLVERE in 2008 with her debut album “Here Be Dragons”. That release cemented a unique place in the music community for Krista and won her loads of fans including one Mr Ryan Adams. Ryan Adams played guitar and sang backing vocals on the new album “Reservoir Drive” which is due for release in February 2013.
“Reservoir Drive” was recorded over an intens
e 3 week period in Long Beach, California with Marc Ford (Black Crowes) taking care of production duties with his long time collaborator Anthony Arvizu.
The first single “Looking For Love” is a roots rock stomper that wouldn't be out of place of any of the great Lucinda Williams albums. It breathes with the kind of urgency and sexuality that makes roots music great and will be serviced to media and released in the last week of August. It will be accompanied by a video that is sure to get your heart racing.
“Reservoir Drive” has plenty of depth and will certainly provide Krista with the opportunity for a long campaign that will include multiple singles and tours.
The word from the trenches is that the live band is hungry and dangerous. The first chance to witness the show is in Melbourne in February 2013 for a special album launch event at The Toff In Town.
“She is going to be the next big thing, I just recorded some music with her for her new record in California,” She’s always impressed me as a songwriter. But the songs I've heard this time, I can honestly say I had no idea that she was capable of what I heard. “I don’t say that to undermine her – I was shocked at how intricate it was. From what I've heard it’s such a powerful record. It’s going to be a real game-changer.” RYAN ADAMS on KRISTA POLVERE.
2013 is set to be a hugely successful year for Australian singer/songwriter Krista Polvere; with a fantastic video clip for new single
“Looking for Love” (featuring Ryan Adams) released on August 31, 2012 and an amazing second album to follow; Krista will be one to watch!
In 2011 Krista Polvere was the successful recipient of a Vic Rocks recording grant. Through an introduction from a good friend
Polvere started talking ideas to Marc Ford (The Black Crowes) and his long time friend/music collaborator Anthony Arvizu.
Marc and Anthony have most recently co-produced two of Ryan Bingham‘s records and Marc, of course is world renowned for his outstanding guitar playing and style. From these discussions it became clear that this would be the right match. Marc’s purist approach meant that the album was recorded live in their Long Beach Californian studio, The Compound Studio.
Working within a tight timeframe of 3 weeks for recording and mixing of 13 tracks, meant that everyone worked hard and intuitively. Ryan Adams played guitar and sang backing vocals.
This album showcases Polvere’s song writing ability and voice. Ryan Adams was most recently quoted in an interview with Melbourne’s Herald Sun as saying:
“She is going to be the next big thing, I just recorded some music with her for her new record in California,” he says. “I did some guitar and some vocals and I would say this: I have always been impressed by her. She’s always impressed me as a songwriter and a friend. But the songs I’ve heard this time, I can honestly say I had no idea that she was capable of what I heard.
“I don’t say that to undermine her – I was shocked at how intricate it was. From what I’ve heard it’s such a powerful record. It’s going to be a real game-changer.”
