Aaron Rookus (1983) graduated with honours in 2008 as a Bachelor of Design and as a European Master of Media and Arts (EMMA) at the Utrecht school of Arts. His graduation film ‘I Wish I Could Share The Happiness Of Being Alone With Someone Else’ won several awards including the HKU award for best graduation project.
in 2009 he directed several music video’s, developed some short filmprojects and studied film theory at the university of Amsterdam. In 2010 he was selected for the international, mediadesk sponsored programme Engage for feature film development and in 2012 he was selected as a talent at the Berlinale Talent Campus. His short debut ‘Wednesdays’ was released in 2012 and has won several awards. His ‘P’ premieres at the 2014 Netherlands Film Fstival and he is co-writing the tv-film ‘A Good Life With a Happy End’.
Aaron Rookus is a teacher at the Utrecht University of the Arts.
