Sharon Vazanna

An independent choreographer active in Israel, Vazanna's creations were invited to perform in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Italy and Spain. Her work has been supported by The Ministry of Culture, The Israel Festival, The Cultural Department of Tel-Aviv City, The Rabinovitch Arts Foundation Tel-Aviv, The Israeli Lottery Cultural Foundation and Bikurey Ha'Itim. Her creations include: Transparent Borders, The Feast, Red Fields, One to tango, Walking inside water, Layers. Her solo creation Red Fields won the audience award at The 2013 MASDANZA Choreography Competition, The Canary Islands, Spain.

Graduate of the Rotterdam Dance Academy, Vazanna was a dancer at the Cullberg Ballet in Sweden and the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. She worked with the choreographers Johan Inger, Crystal Pite, Alexander Ekman, Mats Ek, Anouk Van Dijk, Rami Be'er, Idan Cohen, Idan Sharabi. She also performed creations by William Forsyth and Jaccobo Godani. In 2012 she won the Outstanding Dancer Award at the 5th Cross Connection Choreography Competition in Copenhagen.
