AI Johnson attended Pratt Institute, the Albert Pale School of Commercial Arts and the Art Students League of New York. His paintings have been exhibited in many corners of the world, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum in Japan, the Guangzhou International Art Fair in Beijing, China and in a New York City juried exhibition curated by Jordan Kantor, during his tenure as Assistant Curator at the Museum of Modern Art. His fine art continues to be shown and collected internationally. In addition, chosen from a nationwide search, his permanently installed commissioned portrait of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm is on display in Brooklyn Borough Hall in New York City and his hand painted ceramic art called "Energy Tiles” are also permanent installations at Bedford Stuyvesant YMCA in Brooklyn, NY. Other projects include creating the original renderings for the Georgia Aquarium and storyboard work for the feature film, television and music video industry. You can view his commercial storyboard work in films such as “The Fountain”, the HBO Chris Rock Special "Kill the Messenger" and most recently, the feature film, “The Island Chronicles” directed by Joel Dunn. AI also develops mentoring programs helping to inspire and motivate people of all ages
