Mitchell Waite--app publisher, computer book author, web designer, bird lover and entrepreneur--is best known today for iBird; an app that turns your smartphone into a field guide to birds with thousands of hand drawn illustrations, photos and hours of bird call audio. In the past he wrote numerous books on programming and computer technology including the popular Primer and Bible titles. Later he started Waite Group Press, an innovative technology books book publisher in the areas of multimedia, fractals, biofeedback, nanotechnology, and virtual reality. After selling his publishing company to Simon and Schuster Mr. Waite developed the first field guide app for birds which appeared in Apple's television commercial "we have an app for that" (ibird.com/itchy/). Macworld choose iBird as Best of Show in 2009 and awarded it 4-1/2 out of 5 stars.
