The Wapping Project is a centre for the arts in East London located in the historic Wapping Hydraulic Power Station. A multipurpose exhibition and performance space, the Wapping project features newly commissioned works by visual artists, choreographers, composers, writers, poets, designers and film makers. The Engine and Turbine Houses have a restaurant and bar.

The Wapping Hydraulic Power Station (built 1890) was originally run by the London Hydraulic Power Company in Wapping, London, England. Originally it operated using steam and later it was converted to use electricity. It was used to power machinery, including lifts (elevators), across London. ...
