25 years ago Kenneth Cole wanted to start a shoe company. He couldn't afford to sell shoes out of the Hilton or a fancy showroom in Midtown Manhattan. He also wanted more impact so he borrowed a truck and parked it in Midtown but he needed permission from the Mayor's Office. The city only gave parking permits to utility companies and production companies shooting full-length films. That day, Kenneth changed the name of his company to Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. and applied for a permit to shoot a movie entitled, "The Birth of a Shoe Company." Over the next three and a half days, Kenneth sold 40,000 pairs of shoes out of the back of a 40 foot trailer. Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. was off and running.
25 years later, Kenneth Cole Productions, Inc. is a renowned International full-lifestyle fashion company . To find out more about us, please visit kennethcole.com.
