Carolyn Pavlik is an Associate Professor of Dance at Western Michigan University. She earned her M.F.A in Dance from the University of Washington and her B.A. in Dance from the University of Texas. Carolyn performed with the Austin-based Sharir + Bustamante Danceworks and collaborated with Kathleen Hermesdorff, Llory Wilson, and Sally Jacques. Her video works have been presented worldwide, most notably at the American Dance Festival (2005), LesGaiCineMad (2005), VII Festival Internacional de Video-danza de Buenos Aires (2005) and 14th Quinzena de Danca de Almada – Contemporary Dance Festival. Her concert dance works have been presented in New York, Washington, Michigan and Texas. In November 2009, Carolyn celebrated the release of the anthology she co-edited with colleague Melanie Kloetzel, Site Dance: Choreographers and the Lure of Alternative Spaces.
