Screen Institute Beirut (SIB) was created in November 2009 with the aim of supporting ambitious and talented documentary filmmakers in the Arab region. So far the only fund in the Arab world devoted particularly to documentary, it offers grants for the development, production and post-production of films by emerging and proven talents from the Arab world. It also offers physical production resources and professional support for young professionals to allow them produce films that would otherwise not be realized.
The Screen Institute Beirut has been established as a Lebanese non-profit Association with a regional scope.
Initial funding for the Institute's activities is secured by grants from IMS, International Media Support, Denmark.
