Born in 1982 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She received a BFA degree in Photography and Art History in 2008 from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras and her MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts, New York City in 2010. Christian-Betancourt is also the recipient of the School of Visual Arts’ Computer Art Department Scholarship in Academic Excellence. She has exhibited her interdisciplinary new media installation works in numerous group shows in New York and Puerto Rico. Her work explores various roles of female stereotypes through visual narratives that use video, sound, installation, physical computing and performance art.
