Designer Jinhyun Jeon, based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Jeon received BA in Product Design and completed MA in Spatial Design at Hongik University, Seoul, Korea in 2008. She moved to the Netherlands, gained MA in Social Design from Design Academy Eindhoven in 2012 and established Studio Jinhyun Jeon.
Jeon held interest in joint perception, which is when one of our senses carries the ability of other senses. She integrated this idea not only into product design but also into experience intervention: primary behavioural research for artistic inspiration. During her MA thesis on ‘Synesthetic Sensorial Stimuli’, the experimental research explore by engaging with synesthetic effects as a source of design insight, which impacts on innate sensory ability and challenges social thought pattern. Jeon explore sensorial perceptions and intuitive behaviours to engineering emotional experiences and gains insight into the intuitive thought processes of the human brain.
The collaboration with Michelin stars awarded restaurants and hotels in the Netherlands and abroad aims to create enriched intuitive dining experience by sensory stimuli, exploring with the synesthetic effect. It would lead by teasing or training our body where is processed in the brain - sensorial joined phenomenon.
