GREYSCALE is an interactive documentary that deconstructs the complexities of sexuality and language. It will be an online viewing experience that actively engages its audience and asks viewers to consider the words they use to describe their sexual identities, along with the limitations and freedoms those words provide.
The purpose of GREYSCALE is (1) to cultivate an accessible space for discussing issues of sexuality and language; and (2) to demonstrate the power of web-based documentary media as a form of fostering conversations that are not frequently had in other spaces.
GREYSCALE is a thesis project in the MA Media Studies program at The New School. We intend for the project to have a long, fruitful life even after the thesis portion is complete.
