Director of Photography Keith Walker is a veteran DP/Camera Operator
and co-owner of Media Process Group, a Chicago-based production company. Keith’s D.P. credits include over 75 stories shot for CBS’ “60 Minutes,” numerous stories for “48 Hours,” HBO’s “Real Sports” and many PBS documentaries including A Tale of Two Schools (featuring Morgan Freeman) , The Democratic Promise: Saul Alinsky & His Legacy and Critical Condition with Hedrick Smith. Walker was also one of the cameramen who shot the Academy Award nominated documentary Legacy. In 1997 Walker was awarded a Dupont/Columbia Journalism Award for a CBS’ “60 Minutes” story about Marva Collins and her Westside Prep school.
Dubbed “Oprah’s favorite cameraman to work with”, Keith was an early proponent of High Definition video. He has shot numerous HD projects for
Mrs. Winfrey including her Dr. Martin Luther King hour special entitled, The Legacy Lives On which aired this past January on ABC and her prime time special on the building of her all girls Leadership Academy School in South Africa.
Most recently, Walker has shot numerous pieces for the Presidential campaign of Senator Barack Obama, including his Exploratory Committee Announcement and the biography video of Michelle Obama. He also accompanied the Senator on a momentous trip to Africa last summer filming a documentary that he co-produced & shot. The Documentary, Senator Obama Goes To Africa, is available on DVD via Netflix, Blockbuster, Amazon and many other sites.
Keith is currently filming a new documentary with the world renowned dance choreographer Bill T. Jones. Keith will be co-producing & shooting the making of a dance piece commissioned by the Ravinia Festival for a September 2009 premiere, inspired by the upcoming President Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial.
Additionally, Walker has extensive experience shooting overseas, having filmed across the African continent, in Israel, England, Germany, France and Poland as well as Haiti and Ireland.
