The Boston Center for the Arts (BCA) is a not-for-profit performing and visual arts complex that supports working artists to create, perform and exhibit new works, develops new audiences, and connects the arts to community.
Currently, we are accepting submissions for our Young Filmmakers Competition.
The purpose of the Young Filmmakers Competition is to acknowledge and promote the fine artistic work being produced by young filmmakers throughout New England. This contest helps young artists build visibility and exposure within the film community and the general public. The Young Filmmakers Competition fosters an environment in which young artists benefit from the knowledge of experienced filmmakers and come together to share ideas with their peers.
We are looking for short films and videos on any subject by filmmakers aged 16-22 living in the New England area. Projects should be a maximum length of 12 minutes. Winning films will be chosen by a jury of film professionals and educators. Winning filmmakers will receive prizes for their work. Films by contest winners and semifinalists will be presented in a grand screening and reception at the Boston Center for the Arts. Educational workshops will be offered to all participants by experienced professionals in the New England film community.
