A classically-trained performer/composer as well as visual artist, Ken Christianson first studied studio art and psychology at Carleton College, later receiving his bachelor’s in Sculpture and Mixed Media at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design under Kinj Akagawa and Karen Wirth. Ken then went on to study under SEAMUS founder (Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States) Barry Schrader at CalArts, where he received his MFA in Music Composition - Experimental Sound Practices. In addition to his solo work, Ken’s collaborative efforts have included partnerships with such artists as The Drama Troupe Players in Minneapolis, The Samantha Giron and Donna Sternberg Dance Companies, aerial team Bowman and Womack, Pink Fuzzy Animals, Jimmy Lifton and the San Francisco indie band, Rogue Wave. Based out of Los Angeles, Ken recently launched Père, a classical music service which creates custom classical music pieces for newborns.
