Maryland storyteller Ellouise Schoettler was born and raised in NC but she is not a typical southern storyteller,
Ellouise Schoettler blends genealogy and storytelling to capture imaginations and preserve family history. Her stories blend today and yesterday - using traditional stories, folktales, family history and personal stories into programs that fire the listeners to tell their own stories.

She has performed in varied venues across the US. On the 2009 Exchange Place Stage, National Storytelling Festival, Jonesborough, TN, Williamsburg Storytelling Festival, Toe River Storytelling Festival, NC, Grand RIvers Storytelling Festival, KY, DC Capital Fringe Festval, and Rogue Performing Arts Festival, Fresno, CA.

Schoettler also presents FLESH ON OLD BONES, a workshop on combining genealogy and storytelling to bring begats to life. Maryland Storytelling Summit, VASA Gathering (VA), WVA Conference and Mecklenburg County Genealogical Society, Charlotte, NC.
