Education and Certifications: B.S. in Science, (1989) Seattle Pacific University; CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), 1996 NSCA; CPR; AED: First Aid.
Experience: PJ started personal training in 1987, and grew his business successfully for the following 11 years, training clients out of their homes and local area gyms. With these clients’ help as test subjects, PJ invented his “multi-protocol” concept and refined it through 1998 when he formally introduced it to the X Gym.
PJ still spends hours each week studying the current research to further improve the X Gym methods. He has authored many works including local and national media articles and two books on health and fitness. His most recent book, “Cracking Your Calorie Code” is selling like hotcakes through Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and his own book site at crackingyourcode.com.
Some of PJ’s other interests include God, his two teenagers, flying floatplanes, and stair climb competitions. He recently earned “national elite status” at the largest stair climb competition in the world, with a 6th place finish out of 3,000 stair racers up the Columbia Tower’s 69 floors in Seattle Washington (3/22/09). PJ also ran two other races in 2009, placing 2nd in the 75 floor US Bank race in LA, and 5th in the 56 floor WAMU race in Seattle. Since he is still new to stair climb racing, he plans to improve quickly and eventually win every major stair race in the world.
