A renaissance woman...
Growing up in a fishing family in a small town north of Seattle, Elise learned how to gut fish before she could tie her own shoes. Life was lived outside climbing trees, working on fishing boats and treasure hunting on the shores of Puget Sound. The ocean has always played a vital role in Elise's life. Her love for the ocean has grown exponentially over the years.
She has spent more than 20 years working in the field of ocean and environmental conservation managing projects for Google Earth, Jean Michel Cousteau and his Ocean Futures Society, SEAlliance, the Discovery Channel, ABC, Paramount, PBS, Fisher Productions and others. Elise has also been involved with Wild Aid, Mission Blue, the Pacific Whale Foundation and the Friday Harbor Whale Museum assisting and consulting in Public Relations, Educational Outreach and Curriculum Development. Her extensive network within the private and non-for-profit world and her drive for perfection are a key asset for the success of any company.
For the last 5 years, DuFour has been managing multi-million dollar projects for an industrial X-ray company called Hesco. Her involvement with clients such as NASA, Lockheed Martin, Aerojet, ATK, the Swiss Government, the Kentucky Department of Transportation, the Byron and Trois-Riviere nuclear power plants proved to be critical for the success of all these projects.
Elise has chosen to strive, through action to manage the slow change that needs to take place to make a difference. To the best of her abilities Elise uses all the facilities available to her to create partnerships, awareness, advocacy and education through a variety of applications, introductions, projects and programs.
A multi-talented woman, Elise is known among her friends as "A Go Getter" If you need to find something, someone, get money for a project or find a job, Elise is the lady you call; she'll hook you up, just like Radar from M.A.S.H.
