Emily is visual artist working with traditional media as well as the moving image. Her work is based on remembered imagery, memory and ideas of ‘home’.
Upon graduating from the National College of Art & Design in 2009 with an honors degree in Printmaking, she was awarded an Art's Council residency in Belmont Mill Artist Studios, County Offaly.
Emily has exhibited her work widely in Dublin, as well abroad and her work can be found in private and public collections, including the Office of Public Works.
Selected exhibitions include, Threes Young Artists, The Lee Gallery 2008, RDS Student Art Awards 07/08, and Lloyds TSB Art Awards, the Hugh Lane Gallery 2007.
Emily has lived between Ireland and Kenya since her early teens, which has influenced the imagery in her work. More recently, she lived in Italy, where she studied anatomical drawing in the Accademia di Belle Arti, Bologna, and also gave art classes in a mental healthcare centre in the city.
She has a growing interest in Arts and Healthcare and is involved with the Open Window Project in St James Hospital and others.
Emily’s first Solo exhibition opened on December 10th 2010, in the M.T.S.L, South William St, Dublin.
