Phil Suarez has been a New York City Paramedic for more than fifteen years, working in some of New York's most impoverished neighborhoods. In 2005, Phil Suarez co-founded nycmedics.org, did extensive work in Pakistan in the aftermath of Asia Earthquake 2005 and in Haiti after the January 2010 earthquake. Phil has also worked in East Africa, teaching emergency medical services to healthcare workers. Most recently, Phil is working with a clinic in the Highlands of Guatemala bringing healthcare to the remote villages of the Mayan population.
Phil is a freelance photographer, that focuses on humanitarian issues and is currently involved in the filming of a war documentary.
Phil Suarez was born in France and has lived throughout Europe before moving to United States. He currently lives in New York with his wife Loretta and 2 children.
