Yes, I'm an outdoor junkie. If not out on my own adventure I am usually recruited to be part of a friend's. I nearly always pack some sort of image recording device for the memories. Simple tools: everything from an i-pod nano, i-phone, compact point 'n shoot, Nikon DSLR and GoPro. Editing: Mac laptop with FCPX or PC with Sony Vegas.
A few thoughts:
The world is big but our minds should be bigger.
People should quit trying to kill each other, travel, see and experience others and what's out there in this world.
I wish I had learned some other languages but am thankful a lot of people know English.
I appreciate Alfred Hitchcock who was cleaver, witty and used simple production values to create masterpieces. But I also love all of the innovative stuff derived from big sensors, lenses software and really talented, creative people expressing their visions on Vimeo!
In my life I have edited from video tape; non-linear editing and digital capture is up there with sliced bread.
In retrospect it blows my mind where a passion for fly fishing, bikes and skis has driven me to have an experience.
All I'm trying to do is to capture the essence of an experience. Often I find myself fixated on fish, their beauty and the awesomeness of the surroundings they inhabit. That's it; simple.
Life is what you make it.
