Steven Lovy is a native of Hollywood, California. A writer/director graduate of the prestigious UCLA Film and Television department in Los Angeles, California, he divides his time between his homes in Manhattan Beach, California and Budapest, Hungary.
INTERNATIONAL TV COMMERCIALS
Steven has directed numerous TV commercials for such well-known brands as Samsung Electronics, Mercedes-Benz, Electrolux, Wolf, Shell 99, Chio, K'cell and Mevina. Steven has worked with many major international advertising agencies, including Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather, Scholz & Friends, Shift and Mobilera Eurasia.
Steven won the UCLA Spotlight Award given by Harve Bennett (producer of the Star Trek feature films) for his student short film entitled "Circuitry Man". IRS Media and Columbia Tristar immediately developed the short film into a feature film. "Circuitry Man" gained attention in the Seattle Film Festival and went on to a successful distribution that led Columbia Tristar to ask the Lovy Brothers to write and direct the sequel feature, "Plughead Rewired."
"miX," Steven's third feature, premiered strongly in a country-wide release in Hungary, and has gone on to win many major awards, including the Audience Award at Ale Kino IFF, Jury Special Prize at Salento IFF, and Best Editor at Hungarian Film Week.
Steven's music videos feature some of Hungary's most popular artists, including L.L. Junior, Kamikaze and Balkan Fanatik.
