Born and raised in Maine and Oregon, Dave Schwep comes by his talent behind the lens naturally – his grandfather was an Academy Award-nominated director and his uncle a renowned features photographer. At the age of 19 Dave picked up a camera at a ski lodge in Montana and discovered his life’s passion. After an apprenticeship in fashion and glamour photography on the beaches of Miami, he moved to Los Angeles, where he immersed himself in the world of digital media. Starting with event photography, Dave became a sought-after editorial photographer, with spreads in Teen, Urb, Big Shot, Entertainment Weekly and BPM magazines and advertising campaigns for Nike, Canon, Jensen, Clearchannel and Ultimate Ears. Lately Dave, through his company Dreamsequences, has shifted his focus to direction and cinematography, shooting documentaries in the slums of Haiti and the mountains of Peru, and directing Zachary Quinto and Masi Oka (Heroes) in the short film Bordeaux. Dave’s work in television includes a behind-the-scenes highlight film for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and most recently a promo for Fox networks’ Glee which was showcased on Entertainment Tonight.
