Andrew Bordwin splits his time between art production and commercial photography and videography careers. His work is in several private, museum and corporate collections, including the Boston Museum of Fine Art, the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, The New York Public Library, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Pfizer, The Johnson Museum at Cornell, The Addison Gallery of American Art, the Indianapolis Museum of Art, and Morgan Stanley, among others. In addition, he works as a commercial photographer for such clients as Tiffany & Co., Random House, House & Garden, Gensler, Studios Architecture, Fairfax & Sammons, and Martha Stewart Omnimedia.

Bordwin's collaboration with Adam Ames, working under the name Type A, has been active since April 1998. They have exhibited in galleries and museums in New York, Los Angeles, New Orleans, Minneapolis, Indianapolis and Philadelphia, as well as Mexico City, Vienna, Rotterdam and Havana. Both Bordwin and Ames work in New York City. Since 2002, Bordwin and Ames have taught at the Photography Department of Parsons School of Design in New York. Their work can be seen at
