Fredy Santiago A.K.A. Sugar Coated is a Mexican-American artist, and illustrator. Born in Huntington Beach California in 1991 received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Kendall Collage of Art and Design in Grand Rapids MI in 2013. He is a man best known for his art in its unique clash of highly saturated colors, vibrant hand-drawn letters and worlds inhabited by hybrid, surreal characters. Influenced by Post- Pop culture, animation, and vintage paraphernalia. He has presented his work in a number of group shows in the Midwest, including a group show that went by the tittle of Commix at the UICA . His artwork is composed from subjects and feelings which reflect the beauty and honesty of youth; facing the threats that we encounter everyday as we mature. The art challenges concepts centered on perfection, perception, and disposition. His work can be seen through a variety of platforms, both in digital and traditional media context.
