It was love at first sight when Decio first touched a 16mm Arriflex camera at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Film & Television course. Still in New York, he portrayed the life of Brazilian musicians living abroad into a documentary entitled “Bossa in Exile,” in which he depicted such artists as Eumir Deodato, David Byrne, Björk and Tom Zé.
Upon moving back to Brazil, he depicted the life and music of Brazilian musician Tom Zé in the feature-length documentary “Fabricating Tom Zé” in which he accompanied the musician during his European tour. The documentary was awarded the audience award at Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival and São Paulo International Film Festival, aside participating in over 30 international film festivals such as the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Havana Film Festival.
In 2008, Decio arrived at Delicatessen Films, where he is directing both entertainment and advertising productions.
